Ian Coppinger

One of Irelands busiest comedians, Ian has performed to packed houses on four continents, including yearly appearances at the Kilkenny "Cat Laughs" comedy festival, the Edinburgh Festival, the Adelaide Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Having toured in Ireland, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe, ian is now not only a favorite at the comedy stores, but also a regular on the world comedy circuit.

Ian is currently appearing with such Hollywood luminaries as Brendan Dempsey and Christian Slater in the production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in The Gielgud Theatre, London. The play moved there after a sell-out run at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe.

A founding member of The Comedy Improv (1992) where he still performs every Monday night at the International Bar in Dublin, Ian has since accepted invitations to improvise with the popular Second City from Chicago, Whose Line Is It Anyway, The Comedy Store Players and Theatresports. He also shares two hit radio shows on RTE with The Comedy Improv Radio Show.

TV credits include The Late Late Show (RTE), The Lounge (RTE), writer and performer on RTE's six part cult hit Couched, The Empire Laughs Back (BBC) and The Stand Up Show (BBC) both as a performer and a writer for Father Ted's Ardal O'Hanlon (whom Ian supported during his UK tour 2001). Ian also played a lead role in the comedy feature film Separation Anxiety and has more acting plans for 2003.
