Ian
Coppinger
One
of Irelands busiest comedians, Ian has performed to packed houses
on four continents, including yearly appearances at the Kilkenny
"Cat Laughs" comedy festival, the Edinburgh
Festival, the Adelaide Festival and the Melbourne
International Comedy Festival.
Having
toured in Ireland, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe, ian
is now not only a favorite at the comedy stores, but also a
regular on the world comedy circuit.
Ian
is currently appearing with such Hollywood luminaries as Brendan
Dempsey and Christian Slater in the production of "One
Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in The Gielgud Theatre, London.
The play moved there after a sell-out run at the 2004 Edinburgh
Fringe.
A
founding member of The
Comedy Improv (1992) where he still performs every Monday
night at the International Bar in Dublin, Ian has since
accepted invitations to improvise with the popular Second
City from Chicago, Whose Line Is It Anyway,
The Comedy Store Players and Theatresports.
He also shares two hit radio shows on RTE with The Comedy
Improv Radio Show.
TV
credits include The Late Late Show (RTE), The
Lounge (RTE), writer and performer on RTE's six part
cult hit Couched, The Empire Laughs Back
(BBC) and The Stand Up Show (BBC) both
as a performer and a writer for Father Ted's Ardal O'Hanlon
(whom Ian supported during his UK tour 2001). Ian also played
a lead role in the comedy feature film Separation Anxiety
and has more acting plans for 2003.
