"Brendan
Dempsey is another familiar face on the Dublin comedy circuit and
has also acted in movies like About Adam and Waking Ned. If not quite
the biggest name in Irish Comedy, he’s certainly the tallest,
a subject which gives him a lot of material to work with. There was
also a routine about going on safari in Africa, and getting tricked
by the tour guide into getting eaten by the tigers, as a revenge for
slavery. The evolution of the joke from first person anecdote to a
political/historical context was skillfully done."

His humour is of the anthropological kind; funniest when he paints
the picture then points out how daft it all is … Dempsey’s
T-Rex impersonation is priceless.

setter Canalen bar I gang en ny runde med stand up. Forst ut er irlenderen
Brendan Dempsey.
De britiske oyer kan vise til lange og sterke tradisjoner med stand
up-komik. I kveld kommer en vaskeekte irsk kommiker til Canalen Bar
for a underholde. Ifolge Stand Up Norge sa driver.
Dempsey
som skuespiller ved siden av stand up-karrieren. Han spilte blant
annet lottofunksjonaeren I suksessfilmen “Lottomillionaeren”.
Han hadde ogsa en liten rolle I “Braveheart” som delvis
ble spilt inn I Irland, og skal visstnok ha en role I den nyeste filmen
til Martin Scorsese. I begge filmene spiller Dempsey erketypisk ire.
Na er det imidlertid stand up-kommik pa Canalen Bar som gjelder.
